Had a lovely evening displaying my sculpture at the HOST ART WALK event last night. Thank you to everyone who came to look at my and Beverley Addy's work and making it a pleasurable evening.
Carved in relief from Yorkshire stone. The carving depicts a falcon pouncing on a mouse. Commissioned by Groundwork Trust Leeds and situated at the Clearings south Leeds.
To mark the centenary of the First World War, Batley art gallery is exhibiting contemporary artwork by local artists and the Yorkshire sculptors group, myself included, commemorating and reflecting on the 20th century's first great conflict. Please see poster for more details.
WAVES OF CONFLICT
Carved from a variety of different stones to reflect the many nations involved in the First World War and inspired by the image of waves crashing together. The three sandstone carvings represent the Triple Entente and the three limestone carvings represent the Central Powers.
